Jamie Heard is a corporate governance adviser for RiskMetrics Group’s ISS Governance Services unit. For more than twenty years, Heard advised many of the nation’s leading institutional investors on corporate governance issues and he continues to write and speak frequently on this subject.

Previously, Heard served as Vice Chairman of ISS, and before that, he served as chief executive officer. In 2001, he completed the merger of ISS and the Proxy Monitor, where he held the chief executive position since 1998. He also served as president of ISS from 1991 to 1996, prior to starting Proxy Monitor and was the deputy executive director of the Investor Responsibility Research Center.

Heard is a graduate of Harvard College and George Washington University Law School. He is a member of the Bar Association of the District of Columbia.
