RiskMetrics Group announces the sixth annual Global ESG 100 list of the large corporations most highly rated on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. The Global ESG 100 companies are selected from a pool of 2,000 firms in more than 50 countries for their effective management of ESG risks and opportunities.

From its inception in February 2005, the Global ESG 100 has outperformed the benchmark FTSE All World Developed (AWD) Index by 116 basis points per annum, as of the end of 2009.
